The Experience
The RRB NYC Father's Day Half Marathon and 5K transforms Rockaway Beach into a vibrant race day hub. This event, first run in 2014 and now in its 8th edition, draws runners for a Father's Day tradition. The half marathon is a USATF-certified, two-loop course that heads west from Beach 94th Street, with a turnaround at 124th Street, then east to 54th Street before returning to the start/finish area, repeating the loop. The 5K follows a similar out-and-back format along the boardwalk.
With a median field size of around 112 finishers and growing, the race offers a community-focused atmosphere. Runners can expect ample support with at least four water stops per half marathon loop, providing both water and Gatorade. The event includes a T-shirt and a finisher's medal, making it a solid choice for a Father's Day run by the sea.
