The Experience
The Sackets Harbor Marathon & Half Marathon unfolds through the charming lakeside village of Sackets Harbor, NY, and its picturesque surroundings. This event, now in its third edition, typically draws around 1035 finishers, with a growing field that includes participants from approximately 29 states, highlighting its appeal as a destination race.
The course is a scenic out-and-back, featuring several miles along the shores of Lake Ontario before venturing onto beautiful country roads. Runners will experience a mix of quaint village streets and rural farmland, with a notable downhill just before the finish line. While described as relatively flat by some, others mention "rolling hills" near the 6.5-mile mark, suggesting a course that offers a slight challenge while remaining fast and PR-friendly, as evidenced by its USATF certification and net elevation drop.

Finisher hoodies and distinctive medals are among the perks, contributing to the race's reputation for excellent organization and a festive finish that celebrates every runner.
