Conquer the Canyon

The Conquer the Canyon half marathon takes runners through Redmond's Dry Canyon, a nature preserve with striking volcanic geology and steep rocky walls. The course also moves through the town center, passing pavilions and historic landmarks. With a loyal field averaging about 88 finishers from 8 states, the event has a devoted 14% repeat rate.

The out-and-back course is mostly flat (0 ft elevation gain) and transitions from paved streets to dirt trails, offering a mix of urban and wild scenery. Spectators are few, but the intimate atmosphere and gorgeous surroundings more than compensate.

The finish line at Centennial Park welcomes runners with custom-designed medals, food and drink, and a post-race party with music. It's a small, well-organized event that captures the spirit of Central Oregon's high desert.
