Nittany Valley Half Marathon

The Nittany Valley Half Marathon, first run in 1994 and now in its 30th year, has become a beloved fixture in State College, Pennsylvania. Each December, around 400 runners, hailing from approximately 18 states, gather for this event, with about a quarter returning year after year.

The course, primarily on paved roads, winds through the scenic countryside surrounding Penn State University. While offering beautiful views, it's known for its challenging profile. More than 5 miles of the 13.1 are dedicated to climbing, featuring a mix of rolling inclines, long ascents, and steep pitches, including a significant climb in the final 1.5 miles.
