The Experience

Georgetown, South Carolina, gets its own hometown half with the Bridge 2 Bridge Run, a 13th-annual event that draws a modest but dedicated field of about 154 runners from 18 states. The race starts at the Rice Museum Clock Tower and winds through historic streets, past waterfront views and landmarks, crossing two bridges that give the race its name. The course is flat and fast—USATF certified—making it a sleeper pick for a PR, though the true draw is the scenic, small-town atmosphere.

The half marathon is part of a trio of distances that also includes a 12K and a 5K, welcoming everyone from seasoned runners to first-timers. With typical January weather in the 50s–60s, conditions are ideal for a comfortable race. The finish line celebration keeps the community spirit going, with all participants receiving a commemorative T-shirt.
