The Buffalo Creek Half Marathon, first run in 2007 and now in its 18th year, is a beloved autumn tradition in Cabot, Pennsylvania. Each October, approximately 793 runners from around 20 states gather to experience a course celebrated for its spectacular fall foliage.

This point-to-point race unfolds primarily on a crushed limestone surface along the Butler Freeport Community Trail. With a gentle downhill profile, the course is renowned for enabling personal best times, making it a draw for those seeking a fast race. The finish line is located at the south end of the trail, under the highway 356 bridge over the Allegheny River.

With a repeat-runner rate of about 33%, the Buffalo Creek Half Marathon has cultivated a loyal following. Runners appreciate the blend of a scenic, fast course and the crisp autumn air, making it a rewarding destination race.

RACE DAY:    OCTOBER 17, 2026  9:00 AM EDT Start A point-to-point Half Marathon on the Butler Freeport Community Trail --- majority of the course is on a crushed limestone surface.  Our gentle downhill course allows many finishers to run their personal best times. Spectacular fall foliage makes our course one of the most scenic you will experience.  Race begins in Cabot and finishes at the south end of the Trail at the former Butler Junction under the highway 356 bridge over the Allegheny River. Annually on the 3rd Saturday of October.  SAVE THE DATE
