Good morning, runners. The biggest pile of fresh numbers today comes out of northern Michigan, and it's not close.
Sleeping Bear Delivers a Giant Field
Sleeping Bear Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K in Empire, Michigan just landed 1,249 finishers from 2026 in our results database — more than every other race we pulled today combined. That's a serious crowd for a November race in the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and it makes the full Sleeping Bear results the place to start if you're hunting for a benchmark.
Fresh Results, Five Races
About 2,226 result rows came in today across five races. Here's the full set:
- Empire State Half Marathon & 5k — Congers, New York — 216 finishers (2026). See the Empire State results.
- Boys Home Harvest Hustle — Covington, Virginia — 180 finishers (2024). See the Harvest Hustle results.
- Harvest Half Marathon & 10K — Sioux Center, Iowa — 78 finishers (2026). See the Harvest Half results.
- Danville Half Marathon, Presented by URW Community Federal Credit Union — Danville, Virginia — 37 finishers (2026). See the Danville results.
The pattern worth noting: two of today's five results sets are Virginia races — Covington and Danville — and both are small fields. If you're chasing a low-key, hometown half where you actually know the people around you, that corner of the map is quietly stacked.
Two New Races on the Calendar
We added a pair of upcoming races today, both in the South:
- Paws, Claws & Renegades Endurance Festival — Greer, South Carolina — race day February 21, 2027. Early enough in the year to be a season opener.
- Alpharetta Women's Half Marathon & 5K — Alpharetta, Georgia — race day November 7, 2027. Yes, that's next year — but the women's field is worth circling now.
What to Do With This
If you ran Sleeping Bear, your time is live — go find yourself in the list. If you're planning 2027, the Georgia and South Carolina additions are on the board. And if you're local to Virginia, the Harvest Hustle and Danville numbers are a good look at what a small-field half actually feels like before you commit.
That's the dispatch. Go get your miles in.
